When using the Safari web browser, you may get the following message intermittently when switching from one tab to another tab that's displaying your Tameday account:

"😢 Connection temporarily lost. Please wait."

This may be due to Tameday applying some updates and improvements to the system, but if you're seeing it a lot, it's likely due to Safari putting background tabs to sleep—as Tameday requires an active internet connection, it means you could miss important notifications!

Solution #1

The easiest way to avoid this is to use a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox—they don't put other tabs to sleep so your tabbed sessions are always active.

Solution #2

If you wish to continue using the Safari browser and are receiving this message every time you return to Tameday from another tab

then you will need to change your Safari settings.

You can do this by following these steps:

Enable Safari's debug menu. Do this by accessing your Mac's Terminal, opening a session and entering... defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeInternalDebugMenu 1

Open Safari again and find the debug menu on the top of your screen.

Now that you can access the debug menu, find Miscellaneous Flags and click Disable Hidden Page Timer Throttling.

Now Safari will keep an active connection to your Tameday account when you're on another tab!
